كشفت وكالة "رويترز" أن عدد وفيات فيروس كورونا المستجد في الولايات المتحدة تجاوز 40 ألفا اليوم الأحد، وهو أعلى عدد وفيات على مستوى العالم وتقريبا ضعف عدد وفيات إيطاليا صاحبة ثاني أعلى عدد وفيات في العالم.

وسجلت الولايات المتحدة حتى الآن أكبر عدد من حالات الإصابة المؤكدة وتجاوزت الإصابات 744 ألفا.

وزادت الحالات الجديدة أمس السبت بنحو 29 ألف حالة، وهي أقل زيادة في ثلاثة أيام.

ورغم الخطر الذي ما يزال قائما، إلا أن آلاف الأميركيين تحدوا أوامر البقاء في المنازل، وقرروا الخروج في مسيرات مناهضة لإجراءات الإغلاق.
